Come join Columbia SJP for a talk by James North on mainstream media bias against Palestine. The New York Times is one of the most popular news outlets in the United States, and is favored amongst many progressives. However, a close analysis of its reporting on Palestine reveals systematic bias marked by Orientalism, slanted language, and selective coverage that ultimately serves to to distort the reality of ethnic cleansing and settler colonialism. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
