Professor Joseph Massad will be speaking on Trump's Middle East peace plan, popularly termed the "Deal of the Century," which entails a $50 billion, 10-year economic plan for the Palestinian people. But what exactly is the "deal," who will it actually empower, and how will it be implemented? As a part of the discussion, he'll speak to the viability of a two-state solution, and whether a two-state conception may be (or always have been) dead.
Massad teaches Modern Arab Politics & Intellectual History at Columbia's Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies, and has been featured widely in academia and mass media on Israel-Palestine.
