Your mission if you choose to accept it...

Beta testers look for trouble...

Thank you for being CU Monitor project's beta tester.

Here is what you can do:

  1. Browse around the website at https://columbia-university-monitor.com; does everything look ok and make sense?

  2. Browse around the website using a different device (such as an iPad or your smartphone). Note that the website may look quite different on different devices but it should still make sense and all navigational widgets (menus, buttons, links, etc.) should work.

  3. Ensure that navigation (all the menus, links, hashtags, buttons work). In short, click on anything clickable and make sure that the action makes sense.

  4. Review the content for style, clarity, grammar. Right now it is mostly mock content, so there is not all that much to do.

  5. Subscribe to the mailing list. We will send out some test emails later.

  6. Register as website members and try to use blog and forum. Like and follow some other members. Post blogs (we may need to give those of you who want to do it some temporary privileges),

  7. Update and enhance your member profile. Add some info and your photo to it so that members would know who you are.

  8. Note that blog is readable by the public, but forum and member pages are available to the website members only. As a test, see if you can view people's profiles without being a member…

Don't worry about creating dummy posts, we will clean up before the site goes live.

If you find an issue please report it by creating a post in our forum's Beta Test section (you would have to register as a member first to be able to do it).

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us by email at columbia.university.forum@gmail.com.
